Modolell-Calderó special fund

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”60″][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1582211635524{margin-bottom: 30px !important;}”]On 4 May, 2018, the Balmes University Foundation accepted the inheritance of Ms. Maria Victòria Modolell Trias. The assets of the inheritance are detailed below. 50% was integrated into the foundation’s assets, and the other 50% was inherited by Caritas Diocesana de Vic:

(*) The property and one euro correspond to a share in a limited company and are a indivisible part of the inheritance capital, inherited jointly with Caritas Diocesana de Vic. For this reason an ordinary company between the two entities was created, the regulation of which is by mutual agreement between the two parties.

The purpose of the fund, as indicated by Ms. Modolell, is to use the assets to provide grants and scholarships to young people from low-income families in the Osona region, so that they can pursue university studies.

In order to comply with the principles of transparency and efficiency of asset management, the Foundation includes relevant data regarding the administration of the fund’s assets (investments, income, etc.), as well as information relevant to the use of income (amounts of grants, beneficiaries, award criteria, etc.) in its annual report.

Information on asset administration and other details related to the management of the assets of the Modolell-Calderó Special Fund (property investment, joint business, etc.) are available in the UVic-UCC annual accounts.
